John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, participated yesterday in the live webinar titled: “Trash Talk: The Future of Recycling and Waste.”
The national webinar, hosted on E2’s TeleSalon, tackled the subject of innovation in recycling and waste management. Shegerian served as part of the Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) expert panel discussing the impact innovation has had in the world of recycling. Joining Shegerian on the E2 discussion panel were Peter Lobin, Managing Director of ZeroWaste Global, LLC, and John Campbell, Chairman of the Board for WasteZero. E2’s Executive Director Bob Keefe moderated the webinar.
“As cities and municipalities begin to realize the need for environmentally sustainable waste management solutions and net-zero waste goals, businesses are responding with innovative technologies and approaches,” said Keefe. “What might look like a pile of trash to the average person is quite another matter for our three expert speakers. We’re grateful to them for what was a spirited and informative discussion.”
“It’s an honor and a privilege to have been asked by E2 to participate in this important dialogue,” said Shegerian. “Innovation is crucially important if we are to solve the growing problems what to do with unwanted consumer items – be they electronic waste or other forms of waste. Through technological advancements, we have already been able to provide effective solutions, but there is still much work to be done and innovation is certainly the key to our future success.”
