Raytheon, largely considered a leading green and sustainability-focused business, has featured information about Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste, in its annual “Raytheon Corporate Responsibility Report.”

The report, in which Raytheon shares examples of its commitment to people, performance and planet, features the company’s efforts to responsibly recycle e-waste. Detailed on page 27 of the report is the announcement that Raytheon is “…committed to 100 percent eco-responsible e-waste management. In 2014, (Raytheon) moved from more than 13 e-waste processing suppliers to a single national supplier, Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), able to process e-waste of all types – IT and non-IT – from all locations.”

The report also explains that ERI was selected as an e-waste recycling partner because of Raytheon’s commitment to information security, environmental protection and financial return.

In 2014 alone, ERI processed more than 200,000 pounds of electronic waste for Raytheon, in addition to securely shredding more than 3,200 hard drives for the company.
